Haunted Place of Goa | Camurlim – North Goa

Haunted place of Goa: There is a place in Camurlim north Goa where Dr Britto was living in a posh old portuguese house. He was married to a beautiful girl and they were living a happy
married life. Dr. Britto was ambitous and wanted to build a hospital to cater to his village people as there were no other hospitals in the village.

His wife was happy with her husbands decision and fully supported him in his ambitous plan. Dr. Britto had ancestral property of about 3000 sq.mtrs in the same village and decided to start hospital construction.

Haunted Place of Goa: The Unfinished Hospital

Everything was going as per Dr’s plan and the hospital was nearing completion. Now, to generate contacts and procure medecines from abroad Dr. Britto was sailing from Goa unfortunately his ship sank and he was pershied.

Hearing the news his wife was devasted. Slowly she began to lose her mind, and kept thinking and waiting for her husbands arrival. She was insane and never recovered. After many years she too died.

However, their unfulfilled wish remained and a few sightings by the villagers on the property scared them out of the property. It is said to date all attempts to bring in a change in the said property have failed and even now no one has the guts to explore.

It is believed that the house is haunted and there are few instances where people have seen a lady ghost walking along around the windows of the mansion and keeps shouting at the people walking past there at night time.

There might be snakes also since the place is densely populated with trees and plants. According to the villagers, a few cases of death in that area were reported due to snake bites.

Consequently, as told by the villagers from this area, a lady ghost was once seen by a bishop of that village some years ago. However, whilst he was crossing the village he happened to see a strange apparition and he fainted at that spot and got up only the next day morning and started screaming by shouting the lady ghost name.

The ruins are still found lying on the ground scattered all around the area of this more than century-old house in Camurlim Bardez Goa, but the ghost of Dr. Britto’s wife is said to be the real architect of the hospital, and she is still working on it to this day.

I personaly visited this place (Hospital site) and went inside the place. It looked great, I mean the construction, but scary too.

Conclusion

The crumbling walls of the abandoned Camurlim house stand as a poignant reminder of unfulfilled dreams and the enduring echoes of grief. Its spectral reputation whispers a cautionary tale of respect for the departed and the weight of their desires.

The haunting, attributed to Dr. Britto’s heartbroken wife, speaks volumes about honoring wishes, even if they diverge from our own. It invites us to consider the emotional threads that bind us to the unfulfilled, reminding us that the dead carry more than memories into the beyond.

Yet, beyond the chilling whispers, the Camurlim house also beckons curiosity and open-mindedness. The lack of scientific proof for its ghostly residents serves as a reminder that not all truths adhere to logic and reason. There are unseen realms, intangible emotions, and whispers of the unknown that our rational minds might never fully grasp.
