Food Wastage, this is a short story based on food wastage. To understand the value of food wastage this story is created.
In a nearby village lived two young boys named Ryan and Arvind. Ryan was rich coming from well to do family and Arvind was poor living in a small partially damaged house. But somehow they were good friends.But how did they become such good friends? This is what both the families were thinking.
Ryan was fond of playing football and so he wanted someone to play with him daily, this way Ryan approached Arvind as he was living just outside his compound.
During their playtime, Ryan was served mineral bottled water by his servant and Arvind was given local tap water. Later, after they finished their practice they would sit to eat and drink Coffee.
What is meant by food wastage?
This way it was a routine that was being followed, Ryan was served with different combinations of foods such as Eggs, Potatoes, Coffee, sometimes beans etc.
Ryan was a fusspot and so he would eat very little and waste the majority of the food. But Arvind would never waste food and ate even from Ryans plate. He made sure that nothing was wasted.
Arvind’s father who was running a tea stall at that time gradually expanded his tea stall into a medium restaurant.
As their friendship continued for years, one day Ryans father dead in a road accident and their business too collapsed completely.
Within a few years after the death of his father, Ryans lavish living style came completely down, with no more football practices and no more servants around.
But during these years Arvind was starting to have a much better and improved lifestyle.
One day Ryan came to Arvinds’s restaurant. Arvind brought Coffee, potato chips and mineral water for Ryan.
Ryan ate the chips without wasting a single piece and drank coffee without living a drop in the cup but did not drink the mineral water.
Arvind smiled and told Ryan “Ryan drink that water, I know you always drink mineral water”
At this moment Ryan had tears in his eyes and replied in a very sad tone “Arvind the things have changed now”
“I have learnt the value of food and the value of money”.
You are my example, Ryan said this and left the restaurant.

Life changes suddenly without any clue. Be prepared for sudden ups and downs.
