Brother Sister Story | Shattered Sibling Dreams – True Story

In this “Brother Sister Story,” you will have two thoughts about your sister. This is another true story that I am sharing today. Reading such emotionally resonant stories can evoke a range of thoughts and emotions beyond awareness of life’s fragility.

This story is not meant to imply that all sibling relationships are like the one depicted here. Such experiences can resonate with many of us.

Franco, 22, worked as a waiter at a hotel, while his elder sister Carol, 23, was a salesgirl. They were very poor and struggled to make ends meet. Their father was severely ill with liver problems and required medication, and their mother also had health problems.

Brother Sister Story – The Loss of Father

As a pretty young woman, Carol received many marriage proposals, but most were rejected due to their family’s poverty. This burden was compounded by the tragic loss of their father, who succumbed to his liver ailment in the hospital, leaving Carol and Franco to shoulder the weight of caring for their ailing mother.

Franco could not do much with his monthly salary and he finally decided that if he wanted his sister to get married then he must take some loan from somewhere. Since he was not getting an official loan from the banks hence, he decided to take his good friends’ help.

During this period of time, there came another proposal for Carol from a rich boy. The boy was in a hurry to get married as he had to join the ship. Franco talked to Carol and decided to take a loan against his house and the surrounding property.

His friend Roland assists him by providing the necessary funds and taking possession of the
house and property as collateral under a formal agreement.

Carol Gets Married – Franco Takes Loan

Finally, Carol got married and told Franco not to worry about the loan as they could repay it together. Franco visited Carol one day at her new home, where she seemed very happy as her in-laws and husband all took good care of her.

During this period Franco lost his mother due to a heart attack. Franco found himself all alone and felt lonely and sad. At the same time, his tension was building up as he was wondering how he would pay all the loans. To date, he had not paid a penny.

Franco’s friend frequently visited him, demanding money or threatening eviction. This made Franco’s situation even acute. One day, Franco sought refuge at Carol’s home, pleading for financial assistance to appease his demanding friend. To his dismay, Carol reacted harshly, instructing Franco to never bother her again and forbidding him from visiting her home.

Franco’s Health Takes a Turn for the Worse

Franco was taken aback by his sister’s harsh response and desperately implored her to help him with the money situation. Months turned into years, and Franco remained unable to repay his friend or seek Carol’s assistance. Ultimately, he was forced to vacate his house despite his desperate pleas.

Alone and destitute, Franco found himself without a home and without the support of even his closest relatives. This overwhelming burden took a toll on his mental health, leading to his hospitalization.

Yes, Franco had lost everything in life, including his mental health. He had sacrificed everything for his only sister, but she had abandoned him without a second thought. Franco’s last known whereabouts were on the streets, begging for alms from passer-by.

Brother Sister Story – Conclusion:

Moral: We should not expect anything in return for our good deeds. Doing good deeds should not be based on the expectation of receiving something in return.

Franco did everything for his sister out of love, but he was ultimately disappointed. This story reminds us that we should do good deeds because it is the right thing to do, not because we expect anything in return.
